Privacy & Cookies
SUMAI is built on one rule: the tool generates, the human decides. That extends to your data too. Your song briefs — Intent, Structure, Lyrics, Voice, Style, everything you build in SUMAI FREE or PRO — live only in your own browser's local storage. They are never sent to, or stored on, our servers. We don't see them, we don't read them, and we can't recover them for you if you clear your browser — that's why Export/Backup exists, and why it's worth using.
The only things we do collect are the ordinary things a small web app needs to run and stay reachable: a support email if you sign up or ask for help, anonymous usage analytics so we know which parts of SUMAI people actually use, and — if you buy PRO — payment handled entirely by our payment processor, never by us directly.
Your email address — only if you give it to us. This happens if you sign up for SUMAI FREE, enter a giveaway/raffle on the Updates page, or email us for support. We use it to send you the thing you signed up for (your FREE access, a trial reminder, a raffle result) and, if you've opted in, occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe from any of these at any time — every email has a link, or you can just ask. We use Brevo to send and manage these emails; they process your email address on our behalf under their own privacy policy.
Payment information — only if you purchase SUMAI PRO. Checkout is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail — Lemon Squeezy hands us back a license key, nothing more.
Anonymous usage analytics — via Google Analytics (GA4), on every page. This tells us things like which pages get visited, which step of the app people use most, and whether a button gets clicked — never who you are personally, and never anything from inside your song briefs. See Google's own privacy policy for how they handle this data.
Your song briefs and saved sessions — never sent to us. Everything you build in SUMAI (Intent, Structure, Lyrics, Voice, Style, saved sessions, PRO license key) is stored using your browser's own local storage, on your own device. It never touches our servers. Clearing your browser data, or switching devices, means it's gone from our end too — there's nothing for us to restore, which is why SUMAI PRO has a built-in Export/Backup feature. Use it.
SUMAI uses two kinds of browser storage:
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — small identifiers that let Google Analytics tell repeat visits from new ones, so our usage numbers aren't inflated by the same person being counted many times. These are not used to advertise to you, sell your data, or track you across other websites — we don't run ads and have no ad network relationship.
Local storage (not technically a cookie, but similar in spirit) — this is what holds your actual SUMAI work: your saved sessions, your PRO license key, your app preferences (language, Restrained/Extended mode, Simple/Advanced mode). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. It's what lets SUMAI remember your work between visits without needing an account.
We don't use any advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies. There is currently no Meta/Facebook Pixel or similar ad-network tracker on the site.
Your briefs are yours. Export them anytime from the Sessions panel, keep them on your own drive, and take them anywhere — SUMAI never locks your creative work in.
Your email is yours to control. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email we send, or by asking us directly.
You can ask us to delete what little we hold. Since we don't store your song data at all, there's rarely anything to delete beyond your email record — email us and we'll remove it from Brevo.
SUMAI is a small, independently-run product. If you have any question about your data that isn't answered here, just email us — a real person reads it.
SUMAI is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any reason.
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we'll update the date below and, for significant changes, note it on the Updates page.
This page is written in plain language so you actually know what happens with your data — it is not a substitute for formal legal advice, and SUMAI/Ultimotiva makes no representation that it satisfies every jurisdiction's specific legal requirements. If you need this reviewed for a specific regulatory context, please consult a qualified professional.
